<aside> 💡 General information about the functionality and how to approach different aspects of crowds in Houdini

Introduction

For now I am not going to teach you the basics of how Crowds work in Houdini, since that is the area of crowds that has the most amount of existing training material, both from different community members as well as sidefx themselves.

So I highly recommend that you go to sidefx.com and search for crowd in the tutorial section, and I can only recommend Mikaels “Crowds for feature film 1,2 and 3” if you really want to get into crowds. There is a reference link to both in the External Resources section.

Exporting Houdini Crowds to Unreal Engine

Exporting Crowd Agents out of Houdini can be quite a complicated task. Something that sounds fairly simple until you realize that Houdini is the only application that understand packed Agent Primitives, which means some kind of conversion has to happen for anything outside of Houdini to understand things.
